wp-SwimTeam v1.19 beta available for testing

I flew out to Phoenix and back this week and had some airplane time to work on wp-SwimTeam.  I have completed what I am calling “Phase 2” of the Event Model changes.  Events can now be assigned to a swim meet AND the Opt-In/Opt-Out system is working in the Event Mode (which I had broken in v1.18).

The majority of the work in this build is related to Events and their connection to swim meets which is the precursor to Phase 3 which will be the generation of Meet Entries in SDIF format that can be imported into tools like MeetManager and WinSwim.  I have also fixed quite a few bugs in the report manager which were present when either the User or Swimmer option count was set to zero.  There was some logic that didn’t test right and would result in using the default count which is 5.  So if you have seen checkboxes without labels on the User or Swimmer report generator, this has been fixed.

Please let me know if you run into any issues.  I am doing some testing with our team right now and we have our pre-season open house this weekend which tends to result in a good chunk of our registrations.  Assuming all goes well, I’ll release an update to the WordPress repository early next week if not sooner.

  1. Mike-
I help run a swim team in the Philly suburbs, and I came across your project. I thought it would work for our team as well. I have it configured and running. However I am at a stall about how to display the information in post in wordpress. Somewhere it states that there is documentation on the short code on the website but I can’t seem to find it. Could you point me in the right direction?
Thank you and good luck for the summer season.

    • I agree the documentation should be more clear and complete. It is on my to-do list but I keep putting it off in favor of adding more functionality that we need. The best resource I have is the wp-SwimTeam Demo site where I’ve tried to document short code usage through examples. Some of the examples are just in posts and some of them are explicitly spelled out under the Short Codes menu.

  2. Thanks. I’ll try to figure things out with the demo site.

Currently set the last season of our club and a couple of swimmer.

When I click on the meet tab I get the following error: Fatal error: Out of memory (allocated 30670848) (tried to allocate 140 bytes) in /homepages/31/d162404912/htdocs/dcaa/wp-content/plugins/wp-swimteam/class/jobs.forms.class.php on line 2023

I am running your latest version prior to the beta you published and WP 3.2.2

  3. fixed those memory problems by putting a php.ini file in both the root and the wp-admin folders.
The php.ini has memory=90MB in it. 90MB being the limit 1and1.com puts on my package.

That is fantastic news and a good thing to know about 1&1 Hosting.
