There have been a couple questions about how to download the photos that are posted on the Ambassadors web site. The photos are all hosted by a photo service called Flickr. Flickr allows other web sites to display the photos either individually or as a slide show (which is how they appear on this site).
To download pictures, select the page you are interested in from the menu under Photos.
The slide show will begin to play once the page is finished loading.
If you scroll down to the bottom of the article there should be links to the gallery (what Flickr calls a “set”) on Flickr where the photos are actually stored.
Follow the second of the links (visit the Gallery on Flickr) and you will be presented with a page which looks similar to this.
From here you can click on any of the pictures you are interested in downloading (there maybe more than one page so look for additional page links at the bottom of the page).
Just above the upper left corner of the image is a small icon with a magnifying glass which says “All Sizes”. Click on this icon.
By default the “large” size picture will be displayed but there are five sizes to choose from including the “Original” which will be the best for printing. Select the size you want and then click the “Download the <size> size” link to save the picture to your desktop.
If you’d like to bulk download whole galleries of pictures, there is a tool called Downloadr which can download an entire gallery for you. To use Downloadr you’ll need the username for the gallery, which is “CASL Ambassadors” with a space.
